Beautiful Gifts

I've never been one for gift wrapping...but wow. I would be thrilled to get a gift even half this beautiful. AND you can do it yourself! Check out the step by step instructions at Style Me Pretty, I don't know why, I'm just a sucker for elegant things.

Pure

I have always been a fan of fresh farmers markets and cutting back on useless packaging that ends up in dumps. I love Unpackaged from London, a grocery store that uses no form of packaging, just pure food. It's so economical, fresh, and how food really should be.

Gray Day

School is bogging me down. It has become this monster that is eating my life. I start my day at 8 am and do not get out of class/work most days until 7 without a single break. My days are gray and bleak, though these bathrooms from Design Sponge are anything but dreary.

Red

Blood red has always been my favorite color because of its intensity and passion. It goes well with so many other colors and I absolutely love it with black and white. I've always wanted a red, black, and white bathroom for its classiness and because I could put roses and cala lilies in it, my two favorite flowers.

Tangerine my Dream

I must admit I have an affinity for first lady Michelle Obama. I think she she has a classiness about her that reminds me of Jacqueline Kennedy. So I was tickled pink when Michelle Obama was a quest judge on one of my favorite guilty pleasures, Iron Chef. Her tangerine and turquoise outfit was so colorful I fell in love with the color match and have mentally added "tangerine dress" for my "to buy" list.

Bugs and Butterflies

Christopher Marley is an artist who takes his inspiration (literally) from nature. I love the colors and shapes of the butterflies and urchins he uses in his photos. I would love to put them in some sort of desk workspace, like this Ikea one, for an interesting conversation starter as well as a bit of color.

Winter Sunshine

I saw an article in Better Homes and Gardens on indoor Orchids and they have become my latest obsession. I never realized such gorgeous flowers could grow indoors in a climate like Ohio's. What better way to spice up the winter blues?

Back to Black

Who doesn't love classic black and white? I know I just said how much I like bright vibrant color, but black against white gives clean lines and a wow factor in itself.

True Colors

I never liked white and grey in decorating until I saw how much they made vibrant colors pop. I think I've fallen in love with colors of all sorts and I hope to incorporate it into my decorating.

Winter Wonderland

Almost a month since my last post. I've been caught up in the Holidays and the return to school which was promptly followed by snowstorms which turned campus into a Wonderland.
